Get Spring Crafting

With the temperatures slowly rising it’s time to get creative with these wonderful spring crafts for kids – a list of ideas for all ages to kick start your art and craft imagination. Because as you know spring brings endless outdoors but also spring showers and for that reason we have some ideas on how to keep you occupied on those rainy days.

 

How about making a bumble bee from a toilet paper roll?

  • Paint toilet paper roll black.

  • Using template, trace wings on black paper and cut out.

  • Cut 3 strips that will fit around toilet paper roll from yellow paper.

  • When paint is dry, glue yellow strips on toilet paper as shown.

  • Cut a circle from, the manilla paper and draw a smile with the black marker.

  • Glue two google eyes above smile.

 

Do you know that there is an easy way to turn a toilet paper roll into a frog?

  • First paint 2 toilet paper rolls with green paint. You can also paint a paper towel roll and trim it down instead. …

  • Make the frog eyes.

  • Glue the eyes to the toilet paper roll.

  • Draw the mouth on with a black sharpie or marker.

  • Cut a small strip for the tongue out of red cardstock.

What pre-schooler does not like rainbows?

  • Simply cut the paper plate in half and then cut out a small semi-circle from centre of the paper plate.

  • Follow the curve of the paper plate and add colours to form a rainbow.

  • Once the paint has dried, separate the cotton wool into balls and add them to the bottom of each arch – these will form the clouds!

The list is endless as there are so many more other ideas such as paper flowers, paper rings, turtles, ladybugs, ants, caterpillars, spiders, etc.  Hope this bit inspires you just enough to get started and have some creative fun with the kiddos this spring.
